The lime laundry company was originally started in 2005 under the name of Pityme Laundry when local businessman Richard Jones, tried to find a high class linen and laundry company to provide services to two of his luxury holiday homes within North Cornwall. During his search for a quality company, he came across a number of problems with the companies he contacted or met. These problems included; no flexibility, rigid delivery days, poor quality linen, old laundry equipment, mass laundered linen and some didn�t want any more work!

At this time, Richard also had a cleaning company called Pityme Cleaning that offered domestic cleaning services and whose customer base was predominately holiday homes. It soon became clear that other holiday home owners and indeed local restaurants and hotels also shared his frustrations about the need for a high class linen and laundry company. During 2005 Pityme Laundry was born.

The business expanded very quickly and soon a considerable investment was made in new premises, new laundry equipment and additional staff. The cleaning business was then sold to a local professional domestic cleaning company (Perfect Example Ltd) in June 2006, to allow much more focus on the laundry business. This focus has already paid dividends with the business increasing their customer base by one every working day!

In March 2007, the name of the business was rebranded to The Lime Laundry Company Ltd to help reflect the fresh, clean and sharp approach to a modern linen and laundry company.
